I Am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made was founded by Herman Floyd Peterson and Linda Cowan Peterson, a husband-and-wife team with a shared passion for providing children and youth with a safe, loving, structured, and supportive environment.

Meet the founders

Linda and Herman Peterson

Their experiences as parents, foster parents, educators, mentors, and community members inspired the vision for I Am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: a home where young people can feel safe, heard, valued, supported, and encouraged.

Herman Floyd Peterson

Leadership, mentorship, and service.

Herman proudly served in the United States Army for more than 22 years and later dedicated 16 years to teaching Junior ROTC, mentoring young people in leadership, discipline, responsibility, and character development. He has also served as a foster parent and is a father of biological and adopted children.

Linda Cowan Peterson

Experience rooted in advocacy and belonging.

Linda brings more than 15 years of foster parenting experience, providing care, encouragement, advocacy, and support to children from different backgrounds and circumstances. As a biological and adoptive parent, she understands the importance of helping every child feel safe, heard, valued, and loved.
